Christmas Caroling in Shopping Malls

Today missionaries in a couple of zones began Christmas Caroling in some of the shopping centres and malls in Perth. This has been arranged and will be continue with appearances occurring up to and including Christmas eve. It was exciting to sing carols about the Saviour's birth and see the joy it brings to people. We were also able to personally hand out pass along card invitations to the Christmas Worship Service on Sunday the 23rd December 2018.

Zone Conferences

This past week was Zone Conferences. We were blessed to receive great training on:
Being a preach my gospel missionary; The difference between being a missionary and becoming a disciple of Christ; The principle of alignment; The faith cycle; Being a 1, 2 or 3 missionary; Missionary Mathematics, which is to have Desire, Faith in Jesus Christ, Be Obedient, Work hard and Be guided by the Spirit. We did role play on teaching the Doctrine of Christ and learnt about teaching repentance. How grateful we are to gather together to learn, be taught and edified "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them" (Matthew 18:19-20).

Light the World and give as He gave - Christmas has arrived at the Mission Office

At this joyous time of year, we are so grateful for our Saviour, Jesus Christ who is the Light of the World. He spend much of His ministry caring for individuals one by one. Missionaries throughout the Perth Australia mission participated in the world wide day of service today. Many gathered to sing christmas carols, visited the elderly and rendered simple acts of service. This years Light the World initiative has four weeks of focus: Light the world, light your community, light your family and light your faith. Sunday 23rd December, special Christmas worship services will be held in each chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. All are invited to join us in worshiping Him. "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6 )

This morning the new golden missionaries met their trainers. First companions have such an important role to play. We had a great day of training and then they were on their way to their new areas to serve with all their heart, might, minds and strength.

Welcome to our 10 new missionaries!

Our ten new missionaries arrived today from the UK, USA, Mongolia, Fiji and Thailand. They have each have traveled a long way to serve as representatives of Jesus Christ in ministering to Heavenly Father's children here in W.A.We are so glad they have arrived safe and sound.

Farewell to our dear departing missionaries

We fare-welled our dear departing missionaries this evening. They each successfully accomplished their Self-reliance course today. We are so grateful for our self-reliance couple, Elder and Sister Arnoldson, and the great training they give to help prepare the missionaries for their return home.

Elders and Sisters, we will miss you each and are grateful for your serving these past 18 months/2 years. Thank you for being such wonderful representatives of our Saviour here in the great Australia Perth Mission.
