Remember this:

"The Book of Mormon is powerful evidence of the divinity of Christ .Have confidence that the Holy Ghost will testify to anyone who reads and ponders the Gook of mormon and asks God if it is true with a sincere heart, real intent, and faith in Christ.  This witness of the Holy Ghost should be a central focus of your teaching."  (PMG p. 103).

It is always so great to have the opportunity to visit with the wonderful Elders and Sisters of the great Australia Perth Mission!  They are the best missionaries!!!

We also had a great visit with our missionaries up in Broome!  They are doing a wonderful work up there, building on the foundations that other faithful missionaries have worked on over time!

Sister Pitman provided a wonderful lunch for the Broome Branch and our special visitors!  Everyone had a good time being together.  Thank you Broome Branch for a wonderful visit!!!  We love you!!!

And look who stopped by to say "Hello" before the meetings started!  A Frilly Necked Lizard...We tried to encourage him to put his frill up, but he didn't feel like it!    He did pose for pictures for about 10 minutes though!  Notice the bottom picture he is running away on his two back legs standing upright as he runs!!!!

Beloved prophet, Thomas S, Monson passes away.

What a blessing it has been to be alive during the time that President Monson was our prophet.  We all felt the love of our Heavenly Father and our Saviour whenever he spoke with us in General Conferences.  Of all the different subjects he could choose for his last conference addresses he chose the subjects of "Choices"  (April 2016), "A Sacred Trust" (April 2016 Priesthood session), and his last conference "The Power of the Book of Mormon".  Below is the main part of his talk from his last conference (April 2017).

I implore each of us to prayerfully study and ponder the Book of Mormon each day
"This morning I speak about the power of the Book of Mormon and the critical need we have as members of this Church to study, ponder, and apply its teachings in our lives. The importance of having a firm and sure testimony of the Book of Mormon cannot be overstated.
We live in a time of great trouble and wickedness. What will protect us from the sin and evil so prevalent in the world today? I maintain that a strong testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and of His gospel will help see us through to safety. If you are not reading the Book of Mormon each day, please do so. If you will read it prayerfully and with a sincere desire to know the truth, the Holy Ghost will manifest its truth to you. If it is true—and I solemnly testify that it is—then Joseph Smith was a prophet who saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
Because the Book of Mormon is true, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s Church on the earth, and the holy priesthood of God has been restored for the benefit and blessing of His children.
If you do not have a firm testimony of these things, do that which is necessary to obtain one. It is essential for you to have your own testimony in these difficult times, for the testimonies of others will carry you only so far. However, once obtained, a testimony needs to be kept vital and alive through continued obedience to the commandments of God and through daily prayer and scripture study.
My dear associates in the work of the Lord, I implore each of us to prayerfully study and ponder the Book of Mormon each day. As we do so, we will be in a position to hear the voice of the Spirit, to resist temptation, to overcome doubt and fear, and to receive heaven’s help in our lives. I so testify with all my heart in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
Who does not want to be in a strong position "to hear the voice of the Spirit, to resist temptation, to overcome doubt and fear, and to receive heaven's help in our lives."  President Monson explained what we can do to have these as part of our life.  We have to choose to study and ponder the Book of Mormon daily (see April 2016 talk on "Choices").   Let's remember our "Dailies", daily, for the rest of our lives.  A mission is a wonderful time to develop the habit of daily meaningful scripture study.  We will miss President Monson, and what a legacy he has left behind for us to learn from.

#Light the World
IN 25 WAYS, OVER DAYS

It was wonderful to join with our brothers and sisters and friends in the 4 Perth area Stakes, as well as in our Mission Branches, and share this great message of #Light the World!

Missionaries participated in various events sponsored by the different Stakes:

"That's Christmas to Me" Musical Event and Christmas Carols Evening 8 December at 6:30-8:00pm  Lakes Theater Mandurah Baptist College.

First Presidency Christmas Devotional 10 Dec. at 7pm in the North Coast Stake Center

"Helping Hands"  Christmas Appeal Devotional 17 Dec. at 7pm held at the North Coast Stake Center Chapel.

"Christmas Devotional"  17 December at 7pm Southern River Stake Center Chapel.

"Street Friends"  Christmas Cheer 7 and 12 December  Downtown Perth

"Family Picnic Night"  18 December  in the Park across from Dianella Stake Center.

So much good was accomplished and the Christmas Spirit was so easy to feel!  A lot of work and planning by our Church Public Relations people as well as many local members  was evident during these three and a half weeks.  We appreciated the opportunities for service in our various communities.  The #Light  the World trifold was amazingly easy to share with friends and acquaintances, and strangers alike.  As soon as you mentioned that there were ideas to serve others listed every day, faces would brighten and hands would reach out to accept the trifold.  If there are any left over, please continue to use them, just adjust the message slightly in sharing them with our friends in Western Australia!  We can lighten others burdens 25 ways in 25 days every month of 2018!!!

Some quick shots of different events!  (Hopefully I'll be able to post more photos of the various events soon).

Let's  carry the Spirit of Christmas with us into 2018!!!  You are doing great Elders and Sisters!!!
