Farewell to Our Departing Missionaries

This week we said farewell to thirteen (13) wonderful departing missionaries. They return home to Australia, New Zealand, Samoa and the USA. We are so grateful for their wonderful service. Their experience and good works will be greatly missed. We wish them all the best for the next important stage of their future lives. Thank you for serving in the great Australia Perth Mission.. Please continue to be a dedicated Disciple of Christ.

Followup Training for Goldens and Their Trainers

Mission Leadership Council

We recently had a wonderful Mission Leadership Council with all of the wonderful mission leaders. It was great to welcome some new mission leaders and to say farewell to four who will soon be completing their missions.
We were very blessed to be taught by an Area Seventy, Elder Lekias. As a council we spent considerable time learning about the Body of Christ as contained in 1st Corinthians chapter 12 and how each member of the body has an important role to play. We learnt how this applies to all councils and meetings including Ward Councils.

Geraldton Cultural Event

A wonderful cultural event was held over the weekend. On Saturday it included multiple service projects in the morning followed by a massive banquet in the evening that feed over 500 people. This was followed by a Cultural Concert held in the QEII Theater. It featured performances from the following countries - Philippines, Samoa, Cooke Islands and New Zealand. The concert was a great success with many locals and people from Perth showcasing their talents. The concert was a great gift to the Geraldton community and was much appreciated by local people and their leaders. A Family History Discovery booth was also available at the theater for people to learn more about tracing their family history and finding their ancestors.

On Sunday a special Sacrament Meeting and Devotional was held with many members and non-members in attendance. It was wonderful to have the local Geraldton missionaries and Assistants present to assist over the weekend.

Zone Conferences

This week is Zone Conference week.  The theme is inviting others to come unto Christ. We learnt about inspired invitations, being balanced missionaries and the importance of unity. The Zone Leaders, Sister Training Leaders and Assistants shared how to increase power in these areas.  Our wonderful Self -Reliance Missionary Coupled taught us how to invite others to upcoming self-reliance classes. The Country Zone Conference was held via a video conference using Zoom.
