Our Mission's First Facebook Live Event

Technology can certainly be an effective tool in sharing the gospel. Our mission now has a Facebook page called "Disciples of Christ in Perth" facebook.com/disciplesofchristinperth. We recently had our first Facebook Live Event, featuring one of our newer missionaries. The social media specialist missionaries were the interviewers and the technology missionaries did the filming and technical side of things. It was a great collaborative effort with many people sharing and watching the event.

Mission Leadership Council and District Leader Training

Our Mission Leadership Council and District Leader Training was held recently. We had some great discussions about the steps on the Commitment Path which lead to the Covenant Path and effective ways of finding. We also studied Lehi's Dream together and discussed the four groups of people on that path, where we are on the path and where are the people we are teaching on that path. Holding fast to the rod of iron, (the word of God) is key. Not only will the word of God lead us to the fruit (Eternal life through the Saviour and His Atonement). but through our daily immersing in the word of God (scriptures) we can find the power to resist temptation (1 Nephi 15: 23-24).

Welcome Two Great Missionaries

Last week one Elder and one Sister arrived in the great Australia Perth Mission. We are so grateful to have these missionaries join in this great work. They were able to say farewell to their families just outside the mission office and temple. What a great place to gather, where the work of salvation and the work of exaltation occurs!
Below are photos with families, missionaries with their companions and at training.

More Farewells to Departing Missionaries

Last week we said farewell to five more of our dear missionaries. These great missionaries have some self-reliance training the day prior to them leaving, a dinner at the mission home, a devotional and testimony meeting. They return home to continue to become life-long disciples of Jesus Christ.

Karratha and Port Hedland Visit with The Saints

A productive Branch Council meeting with some of the wonderful Saints in Karratha was held recently. What a blessing it is to join together to council, strengthen one another and unite together to help build the kingdom of God on earth.

Branch Council Meeting at Karratha

In Port Hedland, one of the senior missionary couples host a program at the local radio station. They do an amazing job at sharing messages of inspiration through music and gospel based discussions. Below is a photo of them at the radio station.
