Mission Tour with Elder Craig and Sister Debbie Cardon!!!

What a wonderful opportunity it was to have Elder and Sister Cardon here for our 2017 Mission Tour.  They meeting each one of you and commented on the special spirit of consecration they felt in the Australia Perth Mission.  We have The Best Missionaries on earth!!!  We were able to meet in two different combined Zone Conferences, in Dianella and in rockingham.  All of our missionaries including those in the  far away Branches of Broome, Port Hedland, and Karratha were flown in for this special occassion....and just two weeks after we had done the very same thing when Elder and Sister Renlun, Elder and Sister Halstrom, and Elder and Sister Nielson visited us!!!  What a blessing for Western Australia!!!

The subjects covered were:

Sister Fife:  Gaining a vision for your area, setting inspired goals individually and as a companionship, and creating an inspired plan to accomplish the goals and bring your vision to pass.

President Fife:  Taught us more about the blessings of the Sacrament   We learned about what it means for us to be "willing" verses totally capable of doing something.  The Lord can work with a "willing heart"...that's what he asks us to bring  "to the table".   We need to teach this to our investigators and new converts.  The Sacrament is for us to remember Him and all he has done for us.  And for us to examine the keeping of our covenants, understanding that we are not perfect but we are willing to continue to try our best, to repent (turn back to Him) and to get up when we stumble.  Heaven Father is always there for us, is never condemning us, but always encouraging us to get back up and get going again.  It is a process...a life long process of learning, growing and changing.

Sister Cardon :  Taught us about the wonderful tool we have to manage stress.  The booklet "Adjusting to Missionary Life" was created especially for missionaries in this era.  Remember...HALT.  Are you hungry?  Angry?  feeling Lonely?  Tired?  If so, it's time to open up your Adjusting to Missionary Life booklet and do some of the exercises and practices to calm yourself down and get a fresh new outlook.

Elder Cardon:   Talked to us about the special experience he had in observing a member of the 12 Apostles receiving inspiration for each individual's mission call.    He also talked about why an investigator who may have been progressing well, suddenly may greet you at the door asking your not to return.  This is
actually good!  Because they have come to realize that they need to actually act on what they are learning to be true.  You are now in a position to help them overcome the challenges they will all face.  He gave a wonderful role play on teaching the head of the household to pray.

We hope you are taking time in your Zone and District Meetings to review all that you have learned and practice applying it during your companionship studies!

Heavenly Father loves you, and is with you in His work.  Strive to be close and listen to the quiet voice of His Spirit.
